GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
Baxter Heat Pumps repair and service ground source heat pumps. As service partners for manufacturers such as Danfoss, NIBE, Thermia and IVT we can repair and service almost any make and model.
WHAT IS A GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMP?
Ground source heat pumps use pipes which are buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems and provide hot water in your home.
A ground source heat pump circulates a mixture of antifreeze and water around a loop of pipe, this is called a ground loop and is buried in your garden. Heat from the ground is absorbed into the fluid and then passes through a heat exchanger into the heat pump. The ground stays at a fairly constant temperature under the surface, so the heat pump can be used throughout the year – even in the coldest months.

WHY MAINTAIN A GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMP?
All Ground Source heat pumps will require an annual check by a qualified technician to ensure it is operating within the manufacturer’s tolerances.
A heat pump that is not operating correctly can lose up to 25% of its efficiency in both under performance and operating energy consumption. This could cause the expensive auxiliary heater to be kicking in so the unit will use considerably more electric to operate than it should. As with all devices containing or designed to contain FGAS refrigerants, an FGAS certified engineer will be required to work on these components.
Baxter Heat Pumps have over 15 years of experience with the leading manufacturers.
NON-TOXIC GLYCOL ANTIFREEZE
Thermox DTX has been especially formulated for use in ground, air and water heat pump systems, to exploit the advantages Ethylene Glycol has over Propylene Glycol – whilst delivering a non toxic solution.
